About the Role
Professors provide classroom instruction and college service and are responsible to department chairs and instructional deans.
Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Emergency Medical Services or related field required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
Texas certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required.
Minimum of one years’ experience in pre-hospital emergency care required. Extensive pre-hospital emergency department and/or flight experience preferred.
Paramedic certification as an instructor in:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
Emergency Pre-Hospital Provider (PEPP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
One to three years teaching experience in a field or clinical setting required, teaching experience in a community college academic program preferred.
Knowledge of, and experience with, CoAEMSP accreditation process a plus.
